ATLANTA (June 27, 2023) – The Atlanta Open today announced the player field for this year’s tournament which will be held July 22-30, 2023 at Atlantic Station.

Top-ranked American Taylor Fritz (currently ranked No. 9 in the world), Atlanta Open defending

champion Alex de Minaur (No. 16), Atlanta native Ben Shelton (No. 35), Japan’s Kei Nishikori (No. 48), and six-time Atlanta Open champion John Isner (former USA No. 1), among others, highlight the recent commitments.

Fritz has five ATP titles while de Minaur has seven. Twenty-year-old phenom Shelton broke into the top-100 in November and has risen to a career-high ranking of 35. The former Florida Gator advanced to the 2023 Australian Open Quarterfinals, becoming the youngest American man to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal since Andy Roddick (20) at the 2002 US Open.

Former No. 1 American Isner has 16 career titles, including victories at the Atlanta Open in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021 (his six Atlanta titles are a tournament record). Invited to play officially as a wild card entry, he recently ended a run of 14-straight seasons in the top 50 from 2009-22.

Georgia Tech’s Andres Martin has also been extended an Atlanta Open wild card invitation. The

Yellowjacket also appeared in last year’s Atlanta Open as a wild card, defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis on College Night. France’s Gael Monfils, who has 11 ATP titles in his career, also received a wild card invitation.

Other top-50 players in the Atlanta Open field include No. 26 Alexander Bublik, No. 27 Yoshihito

Nishioka, No. 30 Daniel Evans, No. 38 Ugo Humbert, No. 43 Adrian Mannarino, and No. 46 J.J. Wolf.

“We’re thrilled to bring another strong field of players to the Atlanta Open,” said Peter Lebedevs, Atlanta Open tournament director. “American tennis continues its resurgence and having seven Americans from the top-100 rankings scheduled to play in the Atlanta Open field is so exciting. Atlanta is a great tennis city and we can’t wait for the tournament next month.”
