With the recent merger of BB&T and SunTrust Bank, Eddie Gonzalez, GF Sports Chief Business Officer and Tournament Director, officially announced a name change from BB&T Atlanta Open to Truist Atlanta Open as the popular Midtown Atlanta event celebrates its 10th anniversary.
“Along with everyone on the GF Sports team, we are proud to announce our new name to the Truist Atlanta Open along with our new logo,” stated Gonzalez. “We feel that we have the best title partner in sports and at GF Sports, we aim to Elevate Experiences. Truist helps 'elevate' our event as we cross the 10-year mark with ATP Tour tennis in Atlanta. With new venue advancements and a commitment not only to create the most fan-friendly experience across the sports and entertainment industry, but also to give back within our community, we are all looking forward to our world class tennis event this summer in Atlanta.”
This is one of the 10 ATP Tour events in the United States, and annually takes place at Atlantic Station in Midtown each summer. Play this year will run from July 25 to August 2, and fans will now be able to purchase tickets on SeatGeek’s app and online at www.atlantaopentennis.com. An announcement regarding when tickets will officially go on-sale will be made in the near future.
