Trophy Presentation

July 31, 2022 – The finals of the 2022 Atlanta Open. This year's ATP 250 event ran from July 23-31, as the U.S. Open Series kicks off on the North American hardcourts at Atlantic Station.

De Minaur smashes past Brooksby to claim second Atlanta Open title.

Australia’s Alex De Minaur defeated American Jenson Brooksby in the final of the 2022 Atlanta Open by a score of 6-3, 6-3. This was the first meeting between the two.

De Minaur, age 23, is ranked No. 30 in singles and won the Atlanta Open in 2019.

The first set saw the two players evenly matched until the 21-year-old California native suffered a few lapses in concentration that allowed De Minaur to break. From that point, there was no way back for Brooksby who lost the set 6-3 as he couldn't muster a break point.

De Minaur got to work quickly in the second set, breaking Brooksby in the first game. The rank No. 43 American managed to come back, however, and it looked like he might be able to continue the momentum. Unfortunately, several unforced errors proved costly, and the Sydney native accelerated to victory, winning the set 6-3.

This is De Minaur’s second Atlanta Open title and the sixth singles title in his career.

He also won the Atlanta Open in 2019.

In the men's doubles final, two Australian teams were pitted against each other.

Nick Kyrgios /Thanasi Kokkinakis def Jason Kubler / John Peers 7-6 (4) 7-5

This is the first all-Aussie doubles final on the ATP Tour since 2000 Hamburg where Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde defeated Wayne Arthurs and Sandon Stolle.

This is the first Aussie singles and doubles sweep on the ATP Tour since 2014 Bogota where Bernard Tomic captured the singles title and Sam Groth and Chris Guccione won the doubles title.

Note: There were 14 different nations represented in the 2022 Atlanta Open draws.
