Each year a local collegiate tennis star is extended a wild card into the tournament's singles main draw.

"It's a Truist Atlanta Open tradition to extend one of our main draw singles wildcards to a deserving player from one of our major universities,” said Eddie Gonzalez, Tournament Director. “It's even more special when the player is a local product and deserving not only for his play on the court, but his leadership qualities off the court."
