2022 Atlanta Open: Jack Sock in Singles and Doubles; 2022 Doubles Field: Kyrgios, Paul, de Minaur and Tiafoe; Doubles Field's Resume' includes 19 Majors

July 14, 2022 – Atlanta, the No. 1 doubles city in the country, is in for a rare treat at the 2022 Atlanta Open. A strong doubles main draw features players that hold nearly 20 major championships. This year's ATP 250 event will run from July 23-31 in Midtown Atlanta as the U.S. Open Series kicks off on the North American hardcourts at Atlantic Station.

Atlanta-favorite Jack Sock has accepted a wildcard into the singles and entered doubles draw. Sock is a former Atlanta Open singles semifinalist and two-time quarterfinalist. He won the Atlanta Open doubles in 2014 with Vasek Pospisil. He is also a two-time Wimbledon doubles champion.

Sock will be joined in the doubles draw with a roll call of top singles players including Wimbledon finalist, Nick Kyrgios. Kyrgios, coming off the best Grand Slam result of his career, will partner with fellow Aussie, Thanasi Kokkinakis. Kyrgios and Kokkinakis currently hold the Australian Open doubles title.

Top American singles players Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe are entered in the doubles - Paul with Steve Johnson and Tiafoe with Alexei Popyrin. Former Atlanta singles champion Alex de Minaur has put his name in the doubles draw with another Australian player, Luke Saville.

“Our stadium always remains packed for these exciting doubles matches,” offered Atlanta Open Tournament Director Eddie Gonzalez.

Sock is teaming with the No. 2 doubles player in the world, Rajeev Ram, who is also a two-time major champion.

Also of note, entered in the doubles draw are the recent Wimbledon doubles champs, Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell. Nicolas Mahut returns to Atlanta, partnering with Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Mahut holds five major doubles titles and has won the coveted doubles Grand Slam, winning at least one of the four majors. He also has been ranked No. 1 in the world.

Ivan Dodig, partnering with Austin Krajicek, is the 2021 Australian Open champion with Filip Polasek, and also holds six Grand Slam titles, including the 2015 Roland Garros championship with Marcelo Melo. Speaking of Marcelo Melo. If you are looking to watch someone that plays near textbook doubles, grab a seat and watch Melo in action. He's a former ATP No. 1 and playing Atlanta with Raven Klaasen.

This doubles field is in addition to a singles field featuring six-time Atlanta champion John Isner, the top-ranked American Taylor Fritz, future Hall of Famer Andy Murray, and 6'11” Reilly Opelka.
